Description Of AWS Class E8018-B6 Coated Electrodes:
Alloy 8018-B6 coated electrodes are an iron powder, low hydrogen covered electrode designed for the welding of chromium and molybdenum steels and other chromium-molybdenum steels in-service conditions. The coating is particularly formulated to reduce moisture pick-up, minimizing hydrogen cracking and forming porosity. BOHLER FOX CM 5 KB electrode strikes and re-strikes easily and provides a stable arc that is easy to control. AWS Class E8018-B6 electrode is primarily used for the petrochemical and petroleum industries but is also an excellent choice for tubes, tube sheets, and plate steels for high-pressure hydrogen service. BOHLER FOX CM 5 KB coated electrodes have a covered electrode with a basic coating for shielded metal arc welding.
